The $5,000 Mission to Save the Earth Racing a Rickshaw Thru the Himalayas

Founder and adventurer-in-chief of ExtremeMist.com Ron Laikind, is trading the Arizona heat for Himalayan highlands on a wild 12-day rickshaw race through Northern India. He’s joining the infamous Rickshaw Run, hosted by The Adventurists, an offbeat rally where participants navigate 1,000+ miles of rugged terrain in glorified lawnmowers (yes, a tuk-tuk counts). This isn’t just another adrenaline-fueled expedition. Ron is racing for a causeraising $5,000 for Cool Earth, a nonprofit working with Indigenous communities to fight deforestation and climate change from the ground up.

“Whether it’s cooling down hot trails in the Sonoran Desert or helping protect the Earth’s lungs, I believe in practical action that creates real change,” says Ron. “This race is equal parts chaos, culture, and charity, and I’m all in.”

Ron’s journey will take him from the chaotic streets of Leh, India to the steep passes of the Himalayas, with no GPS, no backup, and no guarantees. Just a tiny rickshaw, towering peaks, and a mission to make a difference.
